Winter in The Gardens

And the studies begin again...
Several classes at Atkinson Elementary spent their Garden Time learning about bird studies and watercolored pictures of Oregon Winter Birds . Other classes  helped mulch pathways. They had a great time filling wheelbarrows with bark chips and transporting them around the school. I had such a nice time noting how much joy these students had doing this work. Such a great way to keep students active, engaged with each other, and aware of he natural world. These are days I feel so blessed. As I was putting the last wheelbarrow away at the end of the day yesterday a mom from the school smiled and said to me "you are so lucky," and I could not help but reply, "yes on days like today I really am."
I am blessed and too love to do this work.
