Transformed Garden Beds... clearing the way for winter crops

Like other gardeners, the last week of warm weather was a breath of fresh air... from a very wet September to a dry October, I am blessed by the warm days.

This week I heard a variety of responses  to the new look of the now very "empty" garden beds at the Beverly Clarey School Garden.  We took advantage of the warm weather and experimented with planting some cold weather crops.

Since the beginning of the school year our Leeks caught student's eyes for journal sketches, and observation. They were a part of the Salsa Bed, which had tomatoes, peppers and cilantro growing along side them all summer long.

One student came out to the garden at the end of the day and stated with confidence: it must be the time of the year to replant...! The season changes brought us many smiles and learning this week.
With Joy,
Aliesje
