The school's are in full swing with Autumn Work Days, fall planting, leaf raking, mulch spreading...its a good time for all.

The students at Bridger spread fresh soil (from
Dean Innovations), and then planted garlic and greens for there October Late Opening Service Day and Nature Clubs before school program. At Atkinson we did an All School Garden Work Day, where all grades come out and participate in some sort of work project on the school grounds. I love to see how excited the students are about tending the gardens, and elated to see the gardens looking so nice.

Our parent and student volunteers from Creative Science School worked hard on our Monthly Workday Wednesday. They painted garden signs, spread mulch, thinned and removed noxious grasses.
Most schools now have cloches covering some of their beds and have planted cover crops, and are continuing to take advantage of these warm fall days and prepare the gardens for the upcoming wet winter months.
Always learning,
Aliesje
