Fall's Garden

Hello Folks,

We're out in the gardens in this cloudy weather and loving it! Students in Portland Public Schools are getting out to the gardens for their first garden lessons of the year. It's always exciting to see them excited.

Fall is bringing with it the changes we always feel this time of year. The sun is tucking in for a long nap, and we humans feel the urge to do so as well. Fitting that they call some of the fall garden work 'putting the garden to bed.'

But we are lucky here in the Pacific Northwest. We can still plant in fall, and our weather conditions are such that we can work out in the gardens all winter long. Students are out there planting seeds and starts for greens that will grow over the cold season for a harvest this winter and spring.

Wishing you all the best in your gardens and in your worlds,
~Erin
