Crafty Gardens

This late winter the students at Beverly Cleary worked on some great garden projects that were put out this spring break week.  A group of students helped plant succulent bird houses (from Portland Nursery) and these were sold at the schools annual auction.  I was delighted to get notice they were up and wanted to share their beauty with our community.

Another wonderful project, lead by parents, was a lovely garden fence to put around the Garden in the front of the Fernwood Campus . This area has been a "dead zone" for many years and the last two springs Ms. Hjorth's 3rd grade classes have been working to  make it a green spot.  Unfortunately many of the plants are stomped upon. Thanks to the artistry and wisdom of some class parents, the new plants can thrive without getting smashed.  I love these sweet fences and am jived by the idea of creating more of these sweet fences at our other schools.
Glad to be doing what I do,
Aliesje
